Plugins are fantastic at making your blogging more interesting, easier to edit and just, well, more fun . . . WordPress is pretty amazing in itself, but add to it all of the fantastic plugins available and the sky really is the limit. Here are some of the top WordPress plugins and how they can really help to bring your blog to life!

  • Google Sitemaps – dynamically generates a sitemap for your site, helping many search engines like Google, Yahoo, Bing and Ask.com to find and retrieve pages of your site much more efficiently. It will also automatically notify the major search engines every time you create a new post with new content. How’s that for a helpful plugin?
  • AdSense Deluxe – this easy to use plugin quickly and easily inserts ads from Google or Yahoo onto your blog posts, whilst also managing where and when to display those advertisements. However, there is another way, you can also insert advertisements directly from themes on WordPress.
  • Max Ping Optimizer – is a great way to control your pinging! It can be used to prevent frequent pings, as it will automatically be pinged when you publish any new posts and drafts, but not when you edit previously published posts, for example, like the WordPress default setting. Just ping when it matters! You can enable or disable pinging by simply checking a box.
